DECADE Elite does not connect to USB port

DECADE Elite/Lite detector and ROXY Exceed with USB connection


When connecting the Elite with a PC using the USB cable there is no COM port created. The Elite does not connect to software over this connection.


Installation and connection of Elite detector on a new PC without internet connection does not automatically load the correct FTDI comm driver.


  1. Disconnect device (remove USB cable from PC).
  2. Retrieve the installer from Antec or FTDI website, the latest RS232 USB com driver is currently (DEC 2020): 2.12.28
  3. Download and run the installer.
  4. Restart computer, connect device with USB cable.

When installed and correct, an additional USB – serial port should be visible in Windows device manager.
