Betadex Sulfobutyl Ether Sodium (BSES) is a cyclodextrin that is used as a drug delivery solution. In a USP monograph the purity analysis requirements of this substance is described. The ALEXYS Analyzer for BSES meets these requirements. The system uses HPLC with an anion exchange column and a DECADE Elite for Pulsed Amperometric Detection (PAD). In our application note, the method performance is demonstrated for the (im)purity analysis of sulfobutyl ether β-cyclodextrin in bulk material.
