3-Hydroxykynurenine (3-HK or 3-HKyn) is a metabolite in the kynurenine pathway, the major route of tryptophan degradation in mammals. 3-HK is known as potential endogenous neurotoxin. In this Application Note the proof of principle for the analysis of 3-HK using the ALEXYS Neurotransmitter Analyzer is shown.
For analysis of low concentrations of 3-HK we use the ALEXYS Analyzer. For best sensitivity the DECADE Elite is equipped with SenCell in combination with a gassy carbon working electrode and a saltbridge.
