Il meccanismo di reazione si basa su reazioni di perossidazione indotte da radicali. Il diamante drogato di boro \u00e8 particolarmente utile per generare radicali idrossilici, noti anche come le specie di ossigeno pi\u00f9 reattive (ROS). A causa della richiesta di prestazioni dei veicoli e di riduzione delle emissioni, sono stati sviluppati iniettori di carburante nuovi e pi\u00f9 efficienti. Gli iniettori di carburante con fori multipli pi\u00f9 piccoli hanno prestazioni migliori rispetto a un singolo foro grande. Tuttavia, questi iniettori di nuovo tipo hanno una maggiore probabilit\u00e0 di essere intasati da contaminanti del carburante e depositi di coking. Questo vale soprattutto per i biocarburanti.<\/p>\n<p>Gli esteri metilici degli acidi grassi (FAME) sono i costituenti principali del biodiesel. Durante la conservazione prolungata, possono facilmente subire un&#8217;ossidazione.
