Pour la d\u00e9tection, on utilise des cellules \u00e0 \u00e9coulement et des \u00e9lectrodes qui peuvent \u00eatre miniaturis\u00e9es, ce qui permet de l&rsquo;adapter \u00e0 la HPLC standard ou nanom\u00e9trique. En combinaison avec l&rsquo;\u00e9lectronique appropri\u00e9e, l&rsquo;ECD a une \u00e9norme gamme dynamique lin\u00e9aire de plus de 7 ordres de grandeur. Un \u00e9chantillon est introduit dans la HPLC et s\u00e9par\u00e9 sur la colonne chromatographique. La colonne est connect\u00e9e \u00e0 une cellule ECD, qui est un capteur \u00e9lectrochimique o\u00f9 une r\u00e9action a lieu au niveau d&rsquo;une \u00e9lectrode. Les substances \u00e9lectrochimiquement actives qui \u00e9luent de la colonne subissent une r\u00e9action \u00e9lectrochimique, les \u00e9lectrons sont transf\u00e9r\u00e9s et il en r\u00e9sulte un courant \u00e9lectrique.
